Practical informations

 

All lectures will take place at Institut Fourier.

Opening hours : 7:00 - 19:00, Monday to Friday

After 19:00, the main automatic entry and the door next to the lecture theatre ARE THE ONLY EXITS.

No one is allowed to stay in the building after 21.00 because the alarm system is activated.

 

Library located on the groundfloor.

Opening hours : 8:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday

A photocopying card is available at the library’s reception desk.



Registration :

Registration is compulsory on Azur colloque platform

Registration is open from March 3th to May 2nd, 2025.

 

A payment of 100 euros will be requested to validate registration.
This registration includes, in addition to the school itself, accommodation in a university room if requested, daily coffee breaks, a buffet lunch (on Monday June 9th).

 

Accomodation :

Participants who request it during registration will be accommodated at the school's expense in a nearby university residence. These accommodations are single student rooms without breakfast.

 

The student residences offers 2 types of rooms :

-  Single room of 9m2 with collective toilet and shower furnished with a bed, a desk, a chair, a cupboard, a shelf and a small fridge.

-  Single room of 12m2 with private toilet and showers furnished with a bed, a desk, a chair, a cupboard, a shelf and a small fridge.

 

For all residences :

Only single rooms, no double or shared rooms available.

Check-in and check-out : 10 : 00 am

No TV and no telephone plug.

Bedding including sheets and blanket is provided.

Pillow, towels, toilet soap, toilet paper are not provided.

Collective kitchen with electric hotplate on each floor.

Kitchen ustensils are not provided. No microwave. No cafeteria.

Working room and bike shed available.

Laundry service open every day from 7 :00 to 22 :00

Washing : from 2.30 € to 2,60 €, drying : 1,50 €, laundry detergent : 0,70 €, softener : 0,70 €

Free WIFI : creation of personal account on the arrival day.

 

Reservation are made according to availability therefore it is not possible to assure participant that the rooms of 12m2 can be reserved.

The name and address of the residence are communicated 2 weeks before the beginning of the summer school.

IMPORTANT : Rooms and common parts must be left clean upon departure. Do not leave food and drinks in the fridge.

 

Access to residence :

From Grenoble train station, you can access the residences by tramway in 25/30 minutes.

All the residences are between 25/30-minutes far from the summer school venue (Institut Fourier) by tramway.

Please note for certain residences, you have to take the tramway + a shuttle. The shuttle service stops end of June, then you have to walk 10/15 minutes to reach the residence.

NOTE: If you wish to be housed in a hotel (at your charge), you can arrange a reservation with a hotel on the list here or on the website of the Tourism Office.

 

Lunches :

When registering, the purchase of university restaurant tickets for lunches from Monday to Friday will be offered at the unit price of 10.60 euros (53€/week).

Lunches (starter, main course, dessert and coffee) will take place in the university refectory located on the campus.

Lunches will be at Diderot university refectory, 40 rue des universités, 38400 Saint-Martin-d'Hères.
Restaurant is 10 minutes’ walk from the Institut Fourier.

Please present your lunch tickets contained in your welcome package to the cashier in the refectory.

Otherwise, you can have snacks in campus cafeterias (sandwich, panini, salad). Payment can be done by cash or by credit card.

 

Campus services :


Sandwich bars, cash machines (BNP, Société Générale, Banque Populaire), a post office, a tobacconist’s for stamps and phone cards are located next to the Tramway stop “Bibliothèques Universitaires”.

Weather :

Although variable it is usually hot (+/- 90°F; +/- 27°C) with possible thunderstorms at night.

Light summer wears suffice, but do not forget rain clothes, sweaters and a pair of hiking shoes (mountains are close to the city).
